COURSES OFFERED
1. Certificate Courses in ECD
At the end of the course, teachers will be able to handle ages 0-6 years competently in any type of kindergarten
• Requirement for Government certificate
Minimum D+ in KCSE or Division 3 in KCE and above
• Course Duration
o Part Time – two years in-service
Course work session during school holidays (April, August and December) – 6 sessions, and teaching practice Term time
o Intake Currently on.
2. KNEC Diploma in ECD
o Suitable for ECD certificate holders and other professionals interested in Early Childhood Education. At the end of the course, graduates will be well versed in development and learning needs of pre-school children and able to teach ages 0-8 years and make Kindergartens efficiency.
o The course comprises Advanced Studies in ECD, teaching practice and dissertation
o We follow an approved Ministry of Education Syllabus that is examined by KNEC
• D+ (D Plus) and above at KCSE and an ECD certificate
• P1 Certificate holders and Division 3/D+ at KCSE
• D Plain at KCSE and ECD certificate plus KNEC proficiency certificate
• KCSE Grade C-Plain and above
3. COMPUTER PACKAGES
This is a certificate in Computer proficiency. The following packages are taught:
• Introduction to computers
• Microsoft Word
• Microsoft Excel
• Microsoft Access
• Microsoft PowerPoint
• Desktop Publishing
